DIGGIN' IN THE WORD 🪓📖

Let me start with a story.

A few years back, I was counseling a couple on the brink of divorce. The wife, raised in church tradition, told her husband she couldn’t respect him anymore because he said he believed in biblical polygyny. Then he said, “That’s not godly. That’s Abraham stuff.”

I paused. Looked her in the eye. And said, “Sister, you mean the Abraham who Yah chose? The one He blessed? The one whose considered in Scripture to be a friend after Yah’s Own heart?” The one our entire faith is built upon?”

She blinked. Then silence.

You see, family—we’re living in a time where folks are quick to dishonor the very foundation Yahweh laid. So let’s open with the words of the Most High:

“I will bless those who bless you, and curse those who curse you.”—Genesis 12:3

Now that wasn’t a metaphor. That wasn’t symbolic. That was just Yah drawing the line in the sand between those who would entreat Abraham with some respect on his name, or not. And far too many believers today, sad to say, are standing on the wrong side of that line.

💥 Did You Know That When You Disrespect Abraham’s Lifestyle, You Actually Invite a Curse onto Yourself

Let me put this plainly: Abraham was a polygynous man. And Yah never rebuked him for it.

Where in Scripture did the Most High ever specifically condemn Abraham for taking on Hagar while he was still married to Sarah? Or for marrying Keturah after Sarah died? Or for having multiple concubines? For the Scripture reads,

"Then again Abraham took a wife, and her name was Keturah... And the sons of the concubines, which Abraham had, Abraham gave gifts." —Genesis 25:1,6

You see, folks, he had multiple wives, and guess what? Yah blessed him through it. Ishmael was born from Hagar, his second wife mentioned, and yet Yah still said:

"I will make him a great nation." —Genesis 17:20

So if Yah wasn't offended, why are you?

Then when Hagar ran away from Sarah, who was justified in treating her harshly for her disrespect of authority, guess what happened... The Angel of the Lord ( who was Yeshua- Jesus Himself) sent her packing back to Abraham’s Polygynous home, as He told her to submit to her mistress which is to submit to her authority. The very authority that initiated the idea of Hagar even becoming Abraham’s additional wife. As Genesis 16:2, reads,

“So Sarai said to Abram, “See now, the LORD has restrained me from bearing children. Please, go in to my maid; perhaps I shall obtain children by her.” And Abram heeded the voice of Sarai.”

So, after reading this article, if you have a problem with this, then it’s not with Abraham. It’s with Yahweh Elohim. Another problem is that the modern Monogamy Only mindset values church culture over Torah truth. That’s why, when you speak against Abraham’s way of life, you tread on holy ground with muddy boots.

🧬 We Are Abraham’s Seed—Which Also Includes Inheriting His Culture

“And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed (child), and heirs according to the promise.” —Galatians 3:29
“11 Therefore remember that you, once Gentiles in the flesh—who are called Uncircumcision by what is called the Circumcision made in the flesh by hands 12 that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth (citizenship) of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without the God in the world. 13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.”—Ephesians 2:11-13

So let’s get this straight. You want The Kingdom’s inheritance of the blessing promised to Abraham and which is access through the promised Seed, Yeshua? But you don’t want the culture that comes with it? However, it behooves you to recognize, my friends, that Abraham’s cultural lifestyle comes with his inheritance. This is why it’s better to honor the father of our faith in its fullest.

Because Abraham wasn’t just a man of faith—he was a man of obedience. Perfect obedience that is as Moses wrote,

"Because that Abraham obeyed My voice, and kept My charge, My commandments, My statutes, and My laws." —Genesis 26:5

That includes, family, even the very way he structured his household. His authority. His leadership. And Yes, His POLYGYNOUS marriages. In all these things, Yah said Abraham was perfect and righteous. Full stop. This is another reason why Yah even chose Abraham, as Genesis further reads,

“And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I [am] the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.”—Genesis 17:1 (KJV)
"17 And the LORD said, “Shall I hide from Abraham what I am doing,18 “since Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?19 “For I have known him, in order that he may command his children and his household after him, that they keep the way of the LORD, to do righteousness and justice, that the LORD may bring to Abraham what He has spoken to him.” —Genesis 18:17-19

You see—so if you condemn what Abraham did as "sinful," you’re not just mistaken. You're out of alignment with the very foundation of your faith. That same faith which includes being a part of Abraham’s household. So if you think you can just come into someone’s home, as their new child, and not be required to follow and respect their customs, then my friend, you are sadly mistaken.

👑 Yeshua Said: Do What Abraham Did

When religious folks of Yeshua’s day tried to tie their own lineage back to Abraham, Yeshua just cut right through that nonsense, and said:

“If you were Abraham’s children, you would do the works of Abraham.” —John 8:39

You see—when Abraham worked, he led. He governed. He circumcised his whole household. He followed Torah before Torah was even written. And yes—he had multiple wives as he was very much POLYGNOUS.

“For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of YHWH.” —Genesis 18:19

This man wasn’t just chosen. He was appointed to be the blueprint for all of us to follow.

So again I say: If you shame the blueprint, what house the are you trying to build? And what house is it that you exactly belong too?  Abrahams House?  Or are you a child of the Devil?

⚠️ Watch What You Say—You Could Be Cursing Yourself

We live in a culture that loves to cherry-pick Scripture like it’s a buffet.

Blessings? Yes, please.

Patriarchal Biblical family order? Nah, I’ll skip that.

Follow All The Commandments? I won't bother try do that.

Polygyny? Never, that's a sin.

But Yah has warned us, family. The promise to Abraham had a built-in warning:

"I will bless those who bless you, and curse those who curse you." —Genesis 12:3

So when you mock Abraham’s marriages, call his obedience to the Torah "toxic" or his polygyny "sinful" — you are putting yourself on the wrong end of the promise.

That’s not just bad theology. That’s just utterly dangerous.

🛡️ Final Word: Polygyny Was Righteous Then—And It Still Is Now

Family, this isn’t about preference. This is about pattern.

Abraham was perfect and he was righteous. And his family structure reflected also Yah’s authority, not man’s opinion.

Polygyny is not the enemy. Rebellion is.

Don’t curse the root you came from, folks. Don’t dishonor the patriarch Yah trusted to carry His covenant through.

Abraham is your father in the faith—only if you obey the laws of the Kingdom by doing what Abraham did.

"39 They answered and said to Him, “Abraham is our father.” Jesus said to them, “If you were Abraham’s children, you would do the works of Abraham." —John 8:39

And also remember that Yah is still watching how you talk bad about His friend.

“[Are] You not our God, [who] drove out the inhabitants of this land before Your people Israel, and gave it to the descendants of Abraham Your friend forever?”—2 Chronicles 20:7 (NKJV)
